For Dancers

You are the heart of the dance industry.

The Mighty Elephant exists to protect your innocence, your safety, and your artistry.

Too often, dancers are told to stay quiet, to obey, to sacrifice wellbeing for “success.” Abuse, overtraining, body shaming, and blurred boundaries have been normalised in ways that harm young people the most. We are here to change that.

What We’re About

Knowing Your Rights

You have the right to feel safe in every studio, rehearsal, and performance. We make those rights clear so you always know where you stand, and what you can expect of your teachers and choreographers.

Recognising Unsafe Situations

We provide tools to help you identify grooming, harassment, and unsafe training practices, as well as the body and environment cues that signal when something is wrong.

Pathways to Support & Justice

We connect you with safe adults, crisis support, and reporting services so that if harm occurs, you are not left to navigate it alone. We also offer guidance on taking legal action and advocating for your rights.

Healthy Boundaries

We help you understand what professional student–teacher boundaries should look like, how to recognise when those lines are being crossed, and what steps to take if they are.

Empowerment to Speak Up

We support you in finding your voice. Speaking up is never easy, but it should always be possible. We guide you in knowing exactly where to turn for help, and what to do if trusted people do not step up to protect you.

Safety is not separate from creativity, but it is the foundation of it.

When dancers feel safe, they flourish. When studios, teachers and choreographers prioritise protection, they strengthen trust, reputation and set the industry on a new path.

Working with The Mighty Elephant is a commitment to building spaces where harm is not hidden, and where every dancer can thrive and be given tools that they can resource throughout their career.

One voice starts the conversation but many voices invoke real and lasting change.
